Digimon Story Time Stranger has released its announcement trailer, as the game is set for release at the start of October. This also means that October will be prime time for Digimon fans as the new Digimon anime will also begin airing in the same month. The new trailer releases bigger pieces of the upcoming RPG, along with showcasing the various editions. This includes additional content rewards and a fantastic collector’s edition figure.
Digimon is set for an abundance of releases, which all featured in the 2025 livestream events. Digimon Story Time Stranger was first revealed as part of State of Play, as part of the latest games coming to PlayStation. Digimon Con 2025 also revealed a greater preview, as well as the upcoming anime, Digimon Beatbreaker. The Digimon Card Game has been added to the lineup, as it will receive its first official full game app, called Digimon Alysion, with a release date yet to be confirmed.
Release Date Revealed with Prodigious Edition Extras
Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe announced that Digimon Story Time Stranger will be released on 3rd October 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The new trailer reveals the main plot of the story as players incarnate ADAMAS agents Dan Yuki or Kanan Yuki, who were thrown into the past to fight and save the Digital World, on the brink of collapse because of the Titans, collapse that would have terrible repercussions into the Human World.
During their quests to save the World, they will meet plenty of characters and Digimon, among which the Olympos XII, deities Digimon that will play a key role in the game’s story. They will also meet Aegiomon and Inori Misono, who both share a special link.

Digimon Story Time Stranger offers players the chance to team up and bond with their Digimon by training, fighting, or spending time in the DigiFarm or use objects to enhance their capabilities. They will also engage in strategic turn-based battles with their bonded Digimon, using a mix of attributes, traits and skill combos to gain the upper hand.
Retail pre-orders are live now for all platforms, as well as digital pre-orders for PlayStation, while Xbox and PC digital pre-orders will come at a later date. Players can choose between four editions:
- Standard edition (Base Game)
- Digital Deluxe Edition includes, in addition to the game, the Cyber Sleuth Set Costumes as well as the Season Pass
- Digital Ultimate Edition which includes, in addition to the Deluxe Edition content, a Costume Pack with 3x Costumes per character along with three additional side missions, the early unlock of special Agumon and Gabumon, with their Digivolution conditions to specific Digimon already unlocked, Public Safety Suit Costumes & Special Supplies Set as well as the Cyber Sleuth BGM Pack

The Season Pass includes three DLC packs that will be released later, each will include five additional Digimon and an additional episode. The Golden Moai farm item is also included in the Season Pass.
Pre-orders for all editions will include the Uniform of Certain School costumes, as well as the Adventure Item Set, Agumon (Black) and Gabumon (Black), who both have an evolution route to a specific Digimon.
There is such a fantastic selection of content for fans to look forward to, and it is brilliant to see such amazing extras featured. It will be exciting to play the latest release since its previous titles were only ported from the PlayStation. Astonishingly, October will host two releases for Digimon fans, so it will be interesting to see if Digimon Alysion is far behind.
The extras included in any of the editions of the game are going to be impossible to pass up. From the season pass of DLC to special Agumon and Gabumon, there are so many in-game bonuses to enjoy straight away. However, it will be a must-have to obtain that Jupitermon: Warth mode figurine as it will likely feature as an epic highlight of the game. It will be exciting to discover more of this game, but many fans will be jumping on those pre-orders, so they don’t miss out.
