A24 has released the trailer for The Invite, a new film directed by and starring Olivia Wilde that looks ready to turn marital tension, sexual intrigue, and one very bad idea into a full-blown slow-burn disaster. Wilde stars alongside Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton in a story centered on Joe and Angela, a couple whose marriage is already hanging by a thread before they invite their mysterious upstairs neighbors over for dinner. Based on the trailer and official setup, The Invite seems less interested in whether the night goes wrong than in how spectacularly it can unravel once everyone at the table starts wanting something.
