Based on the graphic novel series from BOOM! Studios, Butterfly tells the story of David Jung (Kim), a reclusive former US intelligence operative living in South Korea whose past detonates into his present when a sociopathic young assassin named Rebecca (Hardesty) is sent to kill him. Jung’s ties to a shadowy agency known as Caddis, and the emotional wreckage he left behind, form the series’ emotional spine—one that stretches across countries, timelines, and bloodlines.

In Daniel Dae Kim’s own words:

Butterfly is the realization of a longtime dream to bring together American and Korean storytellers and create a show that bridges two cultures that I love deeply.”
