Crunchyroll is taking the party back to Tokyo on May 23 for the landmark tenth edition of the Crunchyroll Anime Awards! This year’s show is complete with a global pre-show, a star-studded orange carpet, and once-in-a-lifetime performances that honor nominees across 32 categories. Nominees will be revealed April 2, which also marks the start of global fan voting.

That is when the nominee slate goes live and global fan voting opens, letting viewers champion the series, films, creators, and performances that defined anime in 2025. As always, the finalists are selected by an independent panel of judges representing worldwide creatives, tastemakers, experts, and influencers before fans help decide the winners.
A Music Lineup Built for Legends



The ceremony will feature a 30th anniversary tribute to Neon Genesis Evangelion by Yoko Takahashi, including the beloved theme “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis.” The Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra will perform symphonic suites arranged by Kazunori Miyake and conducted by Hirofumi Kurita, elevating the night with a concert-hall glow worthy of anime’s biggest celebration.

Hosts and a Decade of Fandom


Fan favorites Sally Amaki and Jon Kabira return as co-hosts for the fourth straight year, anchoring a show built on community. “What began with a few million votes in 2017 has grown into tens of millions of voices from around the world,” said Rahul Purini, President of Crunchyroll, underscoring how the Anime Awards have become a global snapshot of what fans love most.
