Get your pizza ready and sleeves shuffled. A major reveal is coming to New York Comic Con (NYCC), and all signs point to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) entering the multiverse of Magic: The Gathering. Wizards (MTG) of the Coast and Nickelodeon are joining forces for a panel on October 10 at 11AM, teasing a powerful team-up. If you read between the lines, the sewers are practically glowing.
The NYCC Panel Everyone’s Watching

The official event description keeps things vague, only promising a first look at the next collaboration between MTG and Nickelodeon. But the lineup of guests suggests something big.
Set designer Eric Englehard is not usually involved with short-run products like Secret Lairs. His presence implies this will be a full-fledged set. Stephanie Cheung, an art director at Wizards, is also on the panel, alongside narrative designer Crystal Frasier, whose love for TMNT runs deep.
Frasier has made her obsession with the Turtles public. She owns a massive collection of TMNT comics and has cited the franchise as her creative spark. If she’s involved, it is not just a nod to the brand. It is a signal that this crossover is being handled with serious care.
Why TMNT Is the Right Fit

Universes Beyond has already seen MTG collaborate with Fortnite, Doctor Who, and The Lord of the Rings. Nickelodeon properties like SpongeBob SquarePants and Avatar: The Last Airbender are already in the MTG pipeline. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a logical next step.

The franchise brings decades of storylines, characters, and fan love. Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo can each anchor a Commander deck. Villains like Shredder, Krang, and Bebop fill out the roster, while Foot Clan ninjas could swarm the battlefield. You can even imagine pizza as a lifegain mechanic. This is an IP with plenty of flavor to offer Magic players.
Crystal Frasier’s Role Seals the Deal

Frasier is a narrative designer at Wizards and a lifelong TMNT fan. Her background includes RPG writing and comic storytelling. This crossover is not just another job for her. It is a passion project. Her creative voice could shape the set’s storyline and make it one of the most cohesive Universes Beyond releases to date.
Between her presence, Englehard’s role as a set designer, and Cheung’s art direction, this feels far bigger than a Secret Lair drop. It looks like a mainline release that will get a full marketing push.
Why Most Expect TMNT

Unless something unexpected is announced, this panel is likely the formal reveal of a full TMNT set. Expect Commander decks, booster products, new mechanics, and flavorful callbacks to the comics, cartoons, and movies. There is a rich history to pull from, and with this creative team, it should deliver. At the very least it is guaranteed to financially ruin me.
