Jurassic World Rebirth

Jurassic World Rebirth Promises Dinosaurs, Chaos, and a New Age of Genetic Greed

This summer, dinosaurs take back the big screen once again, with Jurassic World Rebirth. Universal is betting big that three years after the franchise wrapped its billion-dollar trilogy, audiences are still want to watch humans fail spectacularly at controlling apex predators. Spoiler: they are.

Directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and written by original Jurassic Park scribe David Koepp, Rebirth looks determined to honor the series’ core theme: humanity can’t resist playing god. And it always ends badly.

An Extraction Mission in Paradise Lost

Set five years after the ecological mess left by Jurassic World Dominion, the film finds Earth mostly hostile to dinosaurs. Pockets of prehistoric survivors exist only in lush equatorial zones, where the climate matches their ancient habitats. Naturally, these beasts now hold genetic secrets that could save millions of human lives or make someone rich enough to ignore ethics altogether.

Enter Scarlett Johansson as Zora Bennett, a covert ops specialist tasked with retrieving DNA from the three largest creatures left roaming land, sea, and sky. She’s backed by Duncan Kincaid (Mahershala Ali), her trusted right hand, and Dr. Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey), a paleontologist who should know better than to sign up for this.

Of course, things go sideways when Zora’s crew collides with a civilian family stranded on the island after their boat fell victim to marauding aquatic dinos. The survivors must navigate the same nightmare terrain as Zora’s team, only to discover that this former research outpost is hiding secrets far uglier than any ancient lizard.

Jurassic World Rebirth cast is as packed as a Mosasaurus Mouth

L to R: , Xavier Dobbs (David Iacono), Reuben Delgado (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson), Duncan Kincaid (Mahershala Ali) and Dr. Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey) in JURASSIC WORLD REBIRTH, directed by Gareth Edwards.

Rebirth comes armed with serious star power. Johansson, Ali, Bailey, Rupert Friend, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo anchor the chaos, with Luna Blaise, David Iacono, and Audrina Miranda playing the family stuck in this tropical death trap. Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein round out the extraction and corporate crews, because no Jurassic flick is complete without a morally questionable suits-versus-science angle.

Behind the camera, franchise veterans Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley produce, with executive backup from Steven Spielberg himself. If that lineage doesn’t scream “Hollywood will never stop cloning dinosaurs or these movies,” nothing will.

Play the Game, Watch the Spot, Buy the Ticket

Jurassic World Rebirth

In true Universal fashion, Jurassic World Rebirth hype comes with extra homework. You can hunt for Dinosaur DNA in their new 16-bit retro game, relive your childhood while procrastinating work, and watch the newest trailer spot on loop until you cave and buy tickets.

Jurassic World Rebirth hits theaters July 2. Try to keep your arms and legs inside the theater at all times.
