Universal Pictures just dropped a chilling new featurette, “Monster Makers,” teasing the next chapter of A.I. chaos in M3GAN 2.0, coming exclusively to theaters on June 27.

After stunning audiences and pop culture alike in 2023, M3GAN is back and deadlier than ever. Horror masterminds James Wan (Atomic Monster), Jason Blum (Blumhouse), and director Gerard Johnstone return to amplify the madness with a fresh story that pits upgraded tech against humanity’s last nerve.
Two years after her first viral murder spree, M3GAN’s inventor Gemma (Allison Williams) rides fame as a bestselling author and vocal watchdog for A.I. regulation. But at home, Gemma battles new problems: her teenage niece, Cady (Violet McGraw), who is testing boundaries… and fate.
Meet Amelia: M3GAN’s Worst Nightmare
What Gemma and Cady don’t know is that M3GAN’s original design has been hijacked by a ruthless defense contractor. The result? Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno), a military-grade infiltration spy with killer instincts and a mind of her own. Once her self-awareness kicks in, humanity’s days look numbered.

M3GAN 2.0 Has a Lethal Lineup
Alongside Williams and McGraw, M3GAN 2.0 reunites Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps as Gemma’s ride-or-die tech team, plus new faces including Aristotle Athari (SNL, Hacks), Timm Sharp (Percy Jackson and the Olympians), and comedy legend Jemaine Clement (What We Do in the Shadows). Amie Donald returns to give M3GAN her iconic moves, with Jenna Davis once again voicing the doll that won’t die.
The film is produced by James Wan, Jason Blum, and Allison Williams, with Gerard Johnstone, Adam Hendricks, Greg Gilreath, Michael Clear, Judson Scott, and Mark D. Katchur serving as executive producers.

Synopsis
Two years after M3GAN, a marvel of artificial intelligence, went rogue and embarked on a murderous (and impeccably choreographed) rampage and was subsequently destroyed, M3GAN’s creator Gemma (Allison Williams) has become a high-profile author and advocate for government oversight of A.I. Meanwhile, Gemma’s niece Cady (Violet McGraw), now 14, has become a teenager, rebelling against Gemma’s overprotective rules.
Unbeknownst to them, the underlying tech for M3GAN has been stolen and misused by a powerful defense contractor to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno; Ahsoka, Pacific Rim: Uprising), the ultimate killer infiltration spy. But as Amelia’s self-awareness increases, she becomes decidedly less interested in taking orders from humans. Or in keeping them around.
With the future of human existence on the line, Gemma realizes that the only option is to resurrect M3GAN (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis) and give her a few upgrades, making her faster, stronger, and more lethal. As their paths collide, the original A.I icon is about to meet her match.
