Magic: The Gathering’s Secret Lair account just tossed out one of its messiest and most charming teases, posting two graph-paper pages full of blue-ink doodles with the caption, “Daydreaming about the next Superdrop? Here’s a little hint.” The attached images lean hard into school-notebook chaos, right down to pencils labeled “SECRET LAIR HIGH” and “SUPERDROP,” which makes this feel less like a random sketch dump and more like Wizards very deliberately telling us the next drop has a scribbly, throwback, maybe even aggressively 90s identity. We already know Festival in a Box: Las Vegas 2026 is the next clearly labeled item on the Secret Lair store, and the Goblin deck tease is already hanging around the edges of the conversation, but this new batch of doodles feels like it is pointing at whatever comes after that.
Secret Lair High Looks Like a Whole Vibe

The art itself is doing a lot. There is the classic cool S, a skull, clusters of staring eyes, a winged owl covered in more eyes, anime-style figures, stars, a lightning cloud, a pixel face, and a winged unicorn that absolutely knows what it is doing to speculation-brained Magic fans. The whole thing reads like Wizards handing the community a trap and then sitting back to watch people lose their minds.
That is already happening. On Reddit, fans immediately started joking that the cool S could point to “S”ol Ring, while others zeroed in on specific doodles as possible card hints. The eye-covered owl has people guessing everything from Vega, the Watcher to a previously leaked Baleful Strix, which at least makes sense if this drop is built around sketchbook aesthetics and heavily symbolic card choices. In other words, the crowd is doing exactly what Secret Lair wanted.
The Winged Unicorn Is the Real Menace Here

The winged unicorn might be the funniest and most dangerous clue of the bunch, to me personally. On one level, it just fits the whole notebook-doodle energy. On another, it opens the door to a very specific kind of Secret Lair chaos. Wizards has already done Ponies: The Galloping in 2019 and Ponies: The Galloping 2 in 2023, so it is not hard to see why some fans instantly jumped to My Little Pony when the teaser started making the rounds.

Now, maybe that winged unicorn is just a winged unicorn. Maybe it points to another 90s-coded nostalgia swing. Maybe it is part of a broader school-scribble drop that has nothing to do with ponies at all. Personally, I would prefer that, since a straight reprint of the Ponies line right after I spent birthday money on those sets would feel extremely cruel. But the visual language is suspicious enough that the theory is not going away anytime soon.
Until Wizards Shows Its Hand, We Are All Just Doodling in the Margins

For now, the only official thing Wizards has actually said is that this is a hint for the next Superdrop. The teaser is live now on the MTG Secret Lair X account, while Festival in a Box: Las Vegas 2026 remains the next named release on the Secret Lair store. Until the full reveal lands, all we really have are symbols, vibes, and one extremely cursed notebook aesthetic. And of course, the only thing we know for sure is that the Jamba Juice logo means the famous juicer company is definitely involved.

Are you reading these doodles as actual card hints or just mood-board chaos? Does the winged unicorn scream My Little Pony to you too? Which symbol in this teaser feels most like a real clue instead of a red herring? Share your thoughts in the comments or @me.
