Paramount and Mattel just announced a multi-year global licensing partnership for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! This signals a major new wave of products about to hit shelves worldwide. Beginning in 2027, Mattel will develop and market a wide range of TMNT goods that aim to meet fans wherever they are, from play to collecting to full-on cosplay energy.
A Global Product Rollout Built for Kids, Collectors, and Nostalgia Nerds
Starting in 2027, the partnership is set to roll out action figures, playsets and accessories, vehicles, games, collectibles, role play items, and more across retailers. The keyword here is wide. This is not a single line or a one-season push, it’s a long runway designed to cover both everyday play and premium fandom.
Mattel frames this as a franchise moment, with Roberto Stanichi, EVP and Chief Global Brand Officer, saying, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is one of the most successful entertainment franchises in history, and partnering with Paramount on this iconic property marks a significant moment for Mattel and the brand.”

The partnership is also directly tied to the next era of TMNT on the big screen. Mattel will produce new product lines for the animated sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 arriving in 2027, followed by merchandise tied to a new untitled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live-action and CG animation hybrid scheduled for 2028.

Paramount’s Josh Silverman, President of Global Products and Experiences, emphasized the strategy behind expanding the brand through multiple touchpoints, saying the franchise’s “rich history and timeless legacy” has created “a powerful connection with audiences around the world,” and adding that Paramount is excited to enter “this next chapter with Mattel.”
Why This Mattel Deal Feels Like a Big Deal

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been a cultural machine since Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird created it in 1984, spanning comics, series, films, games, and consumer products that keep reinventing the brothers for each generation. This new agreement builds on Mattel and Paramount’s existing relationship and sets up a coordinated, global push that can unify what fans watch with what they can actually bring home.
Pizza Time Starts Now: What Fans Should Watch For

If you’re a TMNT collector or a parent planning the next big toy obsession, the timeline is clear. The first major wave of Mattel products starts in 2027, lined up with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2, followed by an even bigger pop when the 2028 live-action and CG hybrid film arrives. Between those two releases, expect the Turtle takeover to be loud, global, and very hard to ignore.

Which Turtle era do you want these Mattel lines to pull from first, classic, 2000s, or Mutant Mayhem style? What’s the one product you need in 2027, figures, vehicles, or role play gear?
