Taskmaster YouTube Channel Hits 1 Billion Views as Hilarious New Season Goes Global

The beloved British comedy series Taskmaster just hit a major milestone: over one billion views on its official YouTube channel. With nearly two million subscribers and a growing worldwide fanbase, the show has cemented itself as the most-watched British comedy on the platform. And now, it’s going global in a big way.

Taskmaster Season 20 Premieres Worldwide on September 11

For the first time ever, Taskmaster will debut new episodes simultaneously in the UK and U.S. Season 20 launches Thursday, September 11, airing on Channel 4 at 9 p.m. in the UK, and streaming worldwide on the Taskmaster YouTube channel at 10 p.m. BST / 5 p.m. EST / 2 p.m. PST.

Episodes will remain free to stream and available in multiple countries, letting fans experience the madness in real time no matter where they are.

Since the show started releasing full episodes on YouTube in 2019, Taskmaster has pulled in more than 13 billion impressions, 1.2 billion views, and a devoted global following. In 2025 alone, U.S. viewers contributed 123 million views and 200,000 new subscribers.

Season 19 became a breakout hit in North America, tripling its viewership from the previous season with 19 million views and 175 million impressions.

Crossing Over to American Pop Culture

The show’s success isn’t just online. Hosts Alex Horne and Greg Davies were invited on Late Night with Seth Meyers, where their interview became the show’s second most-watched clip behind only Barack Obama. When Season 20 guest Jason Mantzoukas joined the lineup, he also landed an interview to promote the series.

Live screenings in New York sold out in less than an hour, underscoring the show’s momentum in the U.S.

Season 20 features a new lineup of comics: Ania Magliano, Maisie Adam, Phil Ellis, Reece Shearsmith and Sanjeev Bhaskar.
