Crunchyroll has debuted the English dub trailer for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea while also revealing the film’s dub cast, giving TenSura fans a fresh look at the franchise’s next big-screen adventure before it hits theaters on May 1, 2026. Set after the opening ceremony of the Demon Kingdom Federation Tempest, the new movie sends Rimuru and company to a private resort island in the great elven nation of Thalion, where a seemingly peaceful getaway turns into a new crisis when a mysterious woman named Yura appears. With a bright ocean setting, a new central threat, and a franchise that keeps getting bigger, this latest movie looks ready to give slime fans another strong theatrical event.
A Vacation That Clearly Will Not Stay a Vacation
The setup for Tears of the Azure Sea has a fun hook because it starts from a place of calm. Rimuru and his companions are invited by Elmesia to visit her private resort island, which sounds like a rare chance for the series to breathe before everything predictably goes wrong. That relaxed backdrop should make the incoming chaos hit even harder once Yura enters the picture and the story shifts into mystery and conflict.
The setting also helps the movie stand apart visually. The franchise has already proven it can handle action, politics, and worldbuilding at a high level, but the “boundless azure sea” angle gives this film a different flavor. It suggests a story with a little more atmosphere and a little more room for the kind of spectacle that plays well on the big screen.
The Dub Cast Gives the Film a Big New Push

Crunchyroll’s dub cast reveal gives fans even more to latch onto. Brittney Karbowski returns as Rimuru Tempest, joined by Michelle Rojas as Shion, Tia Ballard as Shuna, Chris Rager as Veldora, Jad Saxton as Ramiris, and Jill Harris as Luminus. The newly revealed cast also includes Allegra Clark as Yura, Christopher Corey Smith as Zodon, Yuri Lowenthal as Djeese, Amber Lee Connors as Elmesia, Lucien Dodge as Lete, Natalie Van Sistine as Mio, and Marianne Bray as Yori.
One of the bigger eyebrow-raising additions is Ryan Reynolds as Gobta, which instantly makes this dub reveal feel louder. Whether fans come for Rimuru, the larger Tempest crew, or just curiosity about how this new lineup sounds together, the English dub trailer gives the release a stronger identity ahead of its theatrical run.

Behind the camera, Yasuhito Kikuchi directs from a screenplay by Toshizo Nemoto and Kikuchi, with original creator Fuse credited for the story concept. Eightbit returns for animation production, which should help preserve the franchise’s established look and energy as it heads into another movie chapter.
