Hatsune Miku is returning to Magic: The Gathering, and this time she is commanding the entire show. Wizards of the Coast has announced Secret Lair Commander Deck: Hatsune Miku, a ready-to-play 100-card deck filled with exclusive artwork, lifegain payoffs, and enough creatures to pack a virtual stadium. The deck launches through the Secret Lair storefront on August 10 for $149.99.
Hatsune Miku Becomes the Song of the People
Designed by Carmen Klomparens, this release marks the first Universes Beyond Secret Lair Commander Deck. Trostani, Selesnya’s Voice headlines the deck as “Miku, Song of the People,” transforming the virtual singer into the leader of a green-white lifegain strategy.
The deck wants players to flood the battlefield, build an enormous life total, and turn that momentum into a game-ending encore. It is an approachable Commander plan with plenty of room to become wonderfully excessive. Miku does not perform for an empty venue, after all.
Japanese Artists Give Miku a Magical Encore
The deck features 13 cards with new artwork from Japanese artists. KEI, the illustrator behind Hatsune Miku’s original software packaging, created the artwork for Miku, Song of the People. The artist lineup also includes 八三/HASSAN and さいとうなおき/NAOKI SAITO.
That visual presentation extends into the mana base with foil borderless basic lands featuring original artwork. Players will receive seven Plains and seven Forests, giving even the deck’s earliest turns some unmistakable Miku energy.

The complete package includes 12 additional foil borderless cards with new artwork and 74 non-foil reprints. It also comes with 10 double-sided tokens, a deck box, and a display commander. The oversized Miku, Song of the People display card cannot be used in sanctioned play.
Lifegain Turns Every Hatsune Miku Verse Into a Bigger Performance
The deck builds around one of Commander’s most reliable crowd-pleasers: gaining absurd amounts of life while developing a dangerous board. Archangel of Thune can spread counters across the team, while Voice of the Blessed becomes an increasingly difficult threat to stop.
Crested Sunmare and Rhys the Redeemed help fill the battlefield with creatures. Mirari’s Wake accelerates the deck while strengthening the entire ensemble. Once that life total climbs high enough, Aetherflux Reservoir can deliver a spectacular finale directly to an opponent’s face.
A New Ordering Window Gives Fans a Fighting Chance
Secret Lair is introducing a guaranteed 24-hour ordering window for this release. Every order placed during that period will be fulfilled, offering fans an alternative to racing through a limited inventory in minutes.
A limited number of decks will ship immediately. Additional North American orders should ship in May 2027, while EU and UK orders are expected in June 2027.
Secret Lair Commander Deck: Hatsune Miku will cost $149.99 exclusively through the Secret Lair storefront.
