Legendary Entertainment is bringing the Monsterverse into a theme park for the first time with KONG X GODZILLA: THE RIDE. The new multimedia dark ride opens at Lotte World Adventure in South Korea on Friday, July 24, 2026. Developed with Toho Co., Ltd. and Sally Dark Rides, the attraction sends guests deep into Hollow Earth for a massive Kong and Godzilla adventure.
Hollow Earth Comes to Life in Kong X Godzilla: The Ride
The ride is set inside Hollow Earth, the subterranean world at the center of Legendary’s Monsterverse. Guests join MONARCH as new recruits and board Hollow Earth Aerial Vehicles, also known as HEAVs.
The attraction uses two connected eight-passenger ride vehicles for an approximately 11-minute journey. Along the way, riders will encounter huge media screens, towering animatronics, dynamic motion, and immersive effects. That sounds like exactly the kind of scale these Titans deserve.
Kong Leads the Mission in Kong X Godzilla: The Ride
The story begins when a volcanic event throws Hollow Earth into chaos. Titans run wild, and the crisis threatens to spread beyond the underground realm.

Recruits must follow Kong into danger, help restore balance, and discover how Godzilla fits into the growing conflict. Kong takes the lead in the ride’s story, which is why the title places him first. This is KONG X GODZILLA: THE RIDE, not just the film naming convention flipped around.
MONARCH Gets Its Own Theme Park Outpost
The full experience begins before guests even board. The attraction is set at MONARCH Outpost M-42, located near a newly discovered Vile Vortex at Lotte World Adventure.
Before the ride, guests move through MONARCH research and maintenance spaces. They will uncover Titan intelligence and receive a mission briefing during the pre-show. Afterward, the experience continues with a photo zone and merchandise shop featuring exclusive ride products.
That full entry-to-exit approach is what makes this especially exciting. It is not just a ride with famous monsters attached. It is a complete Monsterverse environment built around story, worldbuilding, and scale.
The Monsterverse Keeps Growing
The Monsterverse has already brought Godzilla, Kong, and other Titans to film and television. Now, the franchise is stepping into location-based entertainment with its first fully immersive theme park attraction.
That is a huge move for Legendary. The Monsterverse has always been about size, impact, and cinematic awe. A dark ride built around Hollow Earth, MONARCH, Kong, and Godzilla feels like a natural next evolution.
