Magic: The Gathering is going full cartoon chaos again, and this time it is bringing one of animation’s oldest icons along for the ride. Wizards of the Coast has announced Secret Lair x Felix the Cat: Magic Bag of Tricks, a new crossover drop landing June 15 as part of the Cats Are the Best Superdrop. The release pairs Felix’s long history of surreal mischief with Secret Lair’s love of visual experimentation, which makes this one feel less like a random mascot collaboration and more like a genuinely smart fit.
A Cartoon Legend With the Right Kind of Weird Energy
What makes this drop click right away is that Felix is not just famous, he is strange in exactly the right way. Secret Lair is framing Magic Bag of Tricks around the many versions of Felix’s personality, from future-seeing curiosity to pure troublemaking, and that gives the drop a more playful identity than a simple nostalgia play. If Garfield was about sarcasm and lasagna, Felix looks built around visual absurdity and old-school animated mischief.
That also makes the collaboration feel on-brand for Secret Lair itself. That mix feels like Wizards knew exactly what tone it wanted, leaning into time, perception, madness, and cartoon-cat unpredictability rather than just stuffing the drop with random staples.
It also helps that the drop arrives inside the larger Cats Are the Best Superdrop, which already gives it a built-in theme. Felix feels like a different flavor of cat energy than Garfield or some of the other feline-friendly Secret Lair choices. He is less memeable grump, more silent-era chaos gremlin, and that distinction gives this release its own lane.

Wizards is offering Magic Bag of Tricks in both non-foil and foil, priced at $29.99 and $39.99 respectively. Fans who spend $199 in a single transaction on June 15 can also receive a foil Food token promo card while supplies last, and orders over $99 ship free from the North America store to U.S. customers.
