The World Warrior Tour has officially begun. Paramount Pictures and Legendary Entertainment launched the new Street Fighter trailer across Tokyo’s Shinjuku Yunika Vision screens on September 1, 2026. The studios simultaneously made movie trailer history by releasing the first playable full-length trailer on YouTube, allowing fans around the world to fight their way through the footage as they watch.
Street Fighter Begins Its World Tour in Japan
The global World Warrior Tour kicked off with a first-of-its-kind trailer event in Tokyo. Stars Noah continence, Andrew Koji, Catalina Liang, and Jason Momoa appeared alongside Japanese cast member Hirooki Goto.
Director Kitao Sakurai and Street Fighter game director Takayuki Nakayama also attended the launch. Japanese voice talent Eiko Kano joined the group as the new trailer took over the enormous Shinjuku Yunika Vision screens.
Japan is the perfect place to begin the tour. Capcom introduced the original Street Fighter arcade game in 1987 before the franchise grew into one of the most influential fighting game series in history. Nearly four decades later, its newest cinematic adaptation has returned to Japan to begin another battle for the big screen.
The New Street Fighter Trailer Is Playable on YouTube
Paramount and Legendary did not settle for giving fans another trailer to passively watch. The studios turned the full-length preview into an interactive experience that lets viewers fight their way through the footage on YouTube.
It marks the first playable full-length movie trailer released through the platform. The format connects the new film directly to its arcade roots while giving fans an unusually appropriate way to experience its fighters, rivalries, and explosive action.

A Street Fighter trailer should make viewers want to choose a character and enter the fight. This one actually lets them do it.
Ryu and Ken Return to the World Warrior Tournament
A LEGENDARY PICTURES Production “STREET FIGHTER”
Set in 1993, Street Fighter follows estranged fighters Ryu and Ken Masters as they are pulled back into combat. Andrew Koji plays Ryu, while Noah continence steps into the role of Ken.
The mysterious Chun-Li, played by Catalina Liang, recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament. What initially appears to be a brutal contest of fists, fate, and fury soon reveals a deadly conspiracy hiding behind the competition.
Ryu and Ken must confront each other alongside the demons of their shared past. If they cannot survive both battles, it is game over.
Director Kitao Sakurai co-wrote the screenplay with T.J. Fixman from a story by Dalan Musson and Gary Dauberman. The film promises to bring the arcade experience to theaters with Hadoukens, roundhouses, international fighters, and the wonderfully excessive personalities that made the games iconic.
The Character Select Screen Is Stacked

The movie has assembled a massive cast to portray familiar fighters from throughout Capcom’s franchise. David Dastmalchian plays M. Bison, with Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoai as Akuma and Cody Rhodes as Guile.
Jason Momoa transforms into Blanka, while Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson enters the ring as Balrog. Hirooki Goto plays E. Honda, Vidyut Jammwal portrays Dhalsim, Orville Peck becomes Vega, and Olivier Richters takes on Zangief.
Andrew Schulz appears as Dan Hibiki, Rayna Vallandingham plays Juli, and Alexander Volkanovski portrays Joe. Eric André joins the ensemble as Don Sauvage, an original character whose place within this chaotic tournament remains a mystery.
The casting mixes dramatic actors, professional wrestlers, martial artists, musicians, comedians, and genuine combat-sports champions. That may sound completely unhinged for most movies, but it feels remarkably faithful to a game in which a sumo wrestler, green electrical beast, yoga master, and dictator regularly beat each other senseless in front of cheering crowds.
Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Jason Momoa, Takayuki Nakayama, and Stefan Makhoul produced the film. Capcom’s Kenzo Tsujimoto and Haruhiro Tsujimoto serve as executive producers alongside JJ Hook and Jay Ashenfelter.
Street Fighter arrives exclusively in theaters on October 16, 2026. The film is rated PG-13 for violence and action, bloody images, strong language, sexual references, partial nudity, and brief smoking.
