Wizards of the Coast has revealed three original Magic: The Gathering sets and its complete 2027 MagicCon schedule. Announced during MagicCon: Amsterdam, the lineup includes Nauctis: The Sunken Realm, Kamigawa: Titanbreach, and Zhalfir. The publisher also confirmed its first MagicCon in Japan, a Commander-focused Mystery Booster, and new Reality Fracture products.
A New Magic: The Gathering Story Begins Beneath the Waves

Reality Fracture will conclude the story arc that began with Wilds of Eldraine three years ago. Following the confrontation in the Meditation Realm, Jace Beleren plans to reshape the Multiverse into his ideal vision. Chandra and Garruk will return in twisted new forms when the set launches worldwide on October 2, 2026.
The ending will clear the way for Nauctis: The Sunken Realm on February 5, 2027. This new undersea plane contains merfolk, seals, homarids, aquatic creatures, and deities who control the currents. Its story follows unlikely heroes caught between two warring kingdoms as their home faces destruction.
Nauctis will launch a new multi-year storyline for Magic: The Gathering. Wizards also released a worldbuilding video offering an early look below the surface.
Ikoria Crashes Into Kamigawa

Kamigawa: Titanbreach brings two beloved planes together through one extremely destructive collision. An Omenpath opens above Towashi, allowing a huge piece of Ikoria to crash into Kamigawa.

That impact unleashes Ikoria’s enormous monsters across Kamigawa’s neon-lit landscape. Its people must unite before the invaders stomp, scorch, and shatter their home. Kamigawa: Titanbreach releases June 4, 2027.
Zhalfir Returns With Teferi

The kingdom of Zhalfir has reentered the Multiverse as an independent plane. Its self-titled set will explore Zhalfir’s history, vibrant magic, and place within the greater Multiverse.
Teferi Akosa will also return home, reintroducing the master of chronomancy to a new generation of players. Wizards is teasing innovative mechanics, mind-bending cards, and a visual design shaped by Magic’s take on afrofantasy. Zhalfir releases October 1, 2027.
Magic: The Gathering 2026 Still Has Commander Drafts and Jace’s Reforged Reality
Mystery Booster returns later in 2026 with a Commander Edition designed specifically for Commander draft. Players will get their first look at Mystery Booster: Commander Edition during Gen Con.
Reality Fracture will also receive a Secret Lair Bundle inspired by Jace’s vision of a reforged reality. Each bundle contains two Collector Boosters, six Play Boosters, foil basic lands, and two of 10 possible foil promo cards. The bundle will be available through local game stores, online retailers, and the Secret Lair storefront.
MagicCon Makes Its Japanese Debut

MagicCon will expand to four international events in 2027. The tour begins in Detroit from February 26 through February 28. MagicCon: Tokyo follows from May 14 through May 16, marking the convention’s first event in Japan.
