LRG Games is bringing Invincible and The Walking Dead into the fight with OverPower TCG: Skybound, arriving in stores on August 28, 2026. The new release marks the biggest set the company has shipped since reviving OverPower. It also gives the 30-year-old card game its widest retail push since the original Marvel and DC era.
Skybound Steps Into OverPower
OverPower TCG: Skybound introduces 36 new playable characters into the Modern format. The set will also work alongside Legacy decks, giving longtime players a clean way to bring these new cards into older collections.
That mix should help the release reach both returning players and new fans. Invincible brings brutal superhero chaos, while The Walking Dead adds survival, strategy, and the constant threat of things going very badly. Birthright and Excellence characters will also round out the set.
A Big Retail Return for the Classic OverPower TCG
This is not a small collector drop or limited hobby release. OverPower TCG: Skybound will be available at comic shops and local game stores across the United States and Canada. It will also be sold at more than 900 Best Buy locations and 1,800 GameStop stores nationwide.
That kind of rollout matters for a revived game. It makes OverPower easier to find, easier to try, and easier to bring back into regular tabletop rotation. Local game stores will also receive retail event support beginning with the Top Cow release.
Full-Art Cards Bring the Comics Energy
Like other modern OverPower releases, Skybound leans into full-art cards. The set features work from major comic artists including Jae Lee, Joe Jusko, Marc Silvestri, Philip Tan, and Adam Kubert.
That makes the release feel built for collectors as much as players. These are not just gameplay pieces. They are character-driven comic art showcases tied to some of the biggest names in modern comics.
